Evaluation by student thoughts of public education centers: The case of Amasra Education Center

Abstract (EN)

Public education is important because of the fact that education is a constant need for adults who are out of the formal education age and constitute the majority of the society. In this context, Public Education Centers are the most important educational institutions that provide collective education services. In this respect, it is important to evaluate the Public Education Centers, which carry out public education, organized, programmed and systematically, according to the trainees' opinions. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the lifelong learning trends of the Public Education Center students and to determine their relation with various variables (gender, age, educational status). For this purpose, the screening method was used. The researchers' universe constitutes 150 randomly selected participants from 2202 trainees trained at the Amasra Public Education Center in the 2015-2016 academic year. The research data were collected through a personal information form and a questionnaire developed by the researcher. The developed questionnaire reliability was found as Cronbach α value at 0.81. In the questionnaire study, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics and t test, anova test and different group for Tukey HSD test were used. Analysis of the research data was done with SPSS 21.0 program. According to the results of the research, it is seen that while the educational status, vocational status and the income status variables have a significantly difference on the recognition of the trainees', it is seen that there is no meaningful difference in recognition of the training center, education process, lifelong learning scales according to the variables of gender, age, number of participating courses, participating course program.
