The effect of religion in folk beliefs; the example of Çorum province

Folk beliefs formed from beliefs with or without religious rooted among the people, but accepted by the majority of the people and turned into practices in line with this acceptance. Throughout history, these beliefs have influenced people and played a major role in their lives. Folk beliefs constitute a large part of our thought structure in our way of life through state, movement, attitude, behavior patterns transferred from generation to generation. Folk beliefs have generally existed and continued since ancient times. The evaluation of the effects in these beliefs with regard to religion will help us to better understand the historical development of religion and human relations. In Çorum; the effects of tradition, customs, culture and beliefs being after Hittites, the Old Turks and the acceptance of Islam are available on the current living people. In this study, the folk beliefs and practices adopted and assimilated by the people of Çorum were determined in this research, by evaluating the religious influence on these beliefs and practices, most of the beliefs and practices of the people of Corum live effectively.after the transition of the Turks to Islam
