Abstract (EN)
This research was carried out to examine the usability of folk songs in Fine Arts High Schools piano lesson education, the folk songs from the Kırşehir region selected from the TRT Turkish Folk Music repertoire, the Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Secondary Education Fine Arts High Schools 9th grade, 10th grade, 11th grade. And 12th grade adapted for piano in line with the gains in the curriculum. By using document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, the folk songs belonging to the Kırşehir region in the TRT archive were examined and the folk songs in the sound range that can be played with the piano were selected. 20 folk songs belonging to Kırşehir region, determined by purposive sampling approach, were adapted for piano education by using the adaptation (transcription) method, based on the idea of contributing to the Turkish music repertoire of piano education and increasing the motivation of students to work with the tunes they know. Expert opinion was taken in terms of the suitability and usability of the adapted folk songs in piano education. Necessary corrections were made in line with expert opinions. The adaptations were video recorded by the researcher to follow the notes. Link and QR code applications were used to provide quick access to the adaptations that were uploaded to the YouTube application and watched. As a result of the research, it has been concluded that the Turkish music-based works used in Fine Arts High Schools piano textbooks are few in number, the adaptations made can facilitate the teaching of acquisitions, and the folk songs can be played by adapting them for different instruments.
