Abstract (EN)

The halophilic microorganisms which are extremophiles live in extreme saline habitats. Different enzyme systems of halophilic organisms, which allow them to survive in extreme conditions have an important role in the production of bioactive substances. In our study, volatile secondary metabolites which are produced by some isolated halophilic microorganisms were screened with chromatographic and spectroscopic methods. Isolated from the waters of Van Lake and identified by molecular methods Aspergillus tubigensis microfungus carried out the biotransformation reactions of cedryl methyl ether which is in the structure of terpene and widely used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. The metabolites which are obtained by biotransformation were isolated and purified. One of the four metabolites has been identified as 3-hydroxy cedrol by chromatographic and spectroscopic methods. Also anticandidal, antibacterial and antioxidant activities of metabolites were examined in comparison with relevant standards and substrate. 3-hydroxy cedrol was found to be more effective than cedryl methyl ether on Candida albicans, Candida glabrata.
