The investigation of the usability of raw and calcined colemanite waste in wall tile body

Abstract (EN)

Frit in the main raw material in ceramic enamel at which boron minerals and products with their flux and binding properties can improve glaze glass appearance and, decrease surface flaw such as spalling. At the same time boron products have low thermal expansion, they can improve glaze/body harmony. About boron minerals, there are some studies to use them in ceramic bodies rather than glaze. #n this study, by refering Altın Çini ve Seramik Sanayi A.S. recipie, raw and calcined colemanite additions were added andthe effects were searched. As the result of the experiments, we see that using of the raw colomanite waste isn?t suitable due to the reducing of strength and constituting deformation in the body. In spite of that using calcined colomanite waste is suitable because it increase the strength and decrease of water absorption in the body. Keywords: Waste, Boron, Wall Tile, Colemanite
