Abstract (EN)

Bricks are one of the most important construction materials that are used for hundred years. Because of this, there are so many researches about brick production. Some of these researches are about making use of some wastes in the brick industry. With their flux and binding features the boron minerals and its products, which are the main raw materials at glazes that are used in ceramic and enamel sectors, develop the glass appearance of the glaze and hinder the errors on the surface. The researches that were done before have indicated that boron minerals can be used in the structures and glazes of the traditional ceramics. In this study; the colemanite waste is added to brick clay as raw and calsined in different proportions and its effects to the brick structures are investigated. At the end of these investigates, it is concluded that because the raw colemanite causes to the break ups in the structure of bricks, its usage is not suitable; because the calcined colemanite waste increases the strength and decreases the absorption of water, it usage is suitable.Key Words: Waste, Boron Colemanite, Brick
