Abstract (EN)

In this study the sepiolite sample which obtained from Eskişehir region was coated by iron oxide then for this product the removing of Cu(II) and Pb(II) capacity was investigated as a function of temperatura, pH, ionic strength, ion concentration and at the presence of inorganic ligand. For the cation adsorption process batch tecnique was applied throughout four hours. Results were fitted to Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isoterms, also pseudo-first and second order knetik models. Langmuir isoterm was found to be an optimum isoterm for this process. It is concluded that for RS and ICS sample increasing temperature increased adsorption rate of the Cu(II) and Pb(II) ions. The amount of retentioned Cu(II) on to RS increased from 14,96 mg/g to 39,83 and for DKS from 21,56 mg/g to 44,52 with the increasing temparature from 298 K to 328. The effect of ionic strength on the adsorption process was investigated at the precense of 0,1, 0,05 and 0,01 M NaNO3.The effect of inorganic ligand on the adsorption was studied at the precense of 0,01 M Cl-, SO42- and HPO42-. On the RS sample the adsorption decreased at the precense of inorganic ligand. On the ICS sample at 5,3 pH and precense of 0,01 M SO42- and HPO42- ligands the adsorped Cu(II) percentages were 92 % and 33 % respectively. At the identical pH but absence of those ligands percentages are 33 and 29 respectively. It was decided that the coating of iron oxides, increasing temperature and specifically precense of inorganic ligand make a positive effect on to adsorption process.
