Hamâmîzâde İhsân Bey's Hamsinâme (Concordance and functional glossary)

Hamâmîzade İhsan Bey, one of the late poets of classical Turkish literature, has brought many works to Turkish literature. However, limited number of studies have been done on İhsân Bey and his works. There has not been a comprehensive study on Hamsinâme, which is the "humorous and serious" work of İhsân Bey, in his own words. The subject of the study is the preparation of the contextual index and functional glossary of Hamâmîzâde Mehmed İhsân Bey's work named Hamsinâme. The study consists of three parts. In the first part, the life, literary personality and works of Hamâmîzâde İhsân Bey and the content of Hamsinâme is mentioned. In the second part, the transcripted text of Hamsinâme is presented. In the third part, the contextual index and functional glossary of Hamsinâme, which is the main purpose of the study, is given. The study was handled within the scope of the TEBDİZ project. The work, whose transcription text was prepared, was uploaded to the TEBDİZ system in Gentium Plus font. Words are marked as pattern phrases, proverbs, idioms, prayer, verse, hadith, slang phrases. In the computer environment, each word is interpreted separately. Then the words are sorted alphabetically. The aim of the study is to determine the contextual meaning of the words in the text in line with the increasing contextual index and functional glossary studies in recent years. With these determinations, it is possible to reach various uses of words. In addition, the author's preference in word selection, the meanings attributes to the words by the author and the frequency of using the words can be accessed through studies in this field. It is aimed to contribute to historical dictionary studies together with contextual index and functional glossary studies.
