Contextual index and functional dictionary of Hamdullah Hamdî's masnavi named Yûsuf u Züleyhâ

In this study, a contextual index and functional dictionary of one of the important works of the 15th-century poet Hamdullah Hamdî, titled "Yûsuf u Züleyhâ," have been prepared. The aim of the study is to better understand the layers of meaning in the text and to reveal the linguistic features of the period. Initially, a contextual indexing of the work has been conducted; the words and concepts in the text have been systematically organized along with their contexts. This allows readers and researchers to see how the words in the text are used and in what sense. Hamdullah Hamdî's word choices and the ways these words are used have been detailed. This analysis aims to reveal how the poet utilized literary language and how the linguistic structure of the period is reflected. The results of the study clarify how Hamdullah Hamdî distinguishes himself from other poets of his time in terms of language and style, thereby highlighting his place in classical Turkish literature. At the same time, this thesis aims to serve as an important reference work that will facilitate the understanding of "Yûsuf u Züleyhâ" for future research and literary analyses.
