The zakat of claim in Hanafi school of law

The question of zakat of claim is one of the current issues facing Muslims about the zakat worship, one of the five basic conditions of Islâm. For the obligation of zakat, both the zakat payer and the property to be given must have some characteristics. One of these conditions is related to the goods, which is having the amount of nisab except for the basic requirements. In the event that one, with these goods, is creditor by having goods in the hands of others, the receivable goods are the subject of dispute while calculating the amount of zakat. In this context, it is important to analyse the subject in detail and especially to determine and evaluate the approaches proposed by the classical period fukaha, as well as to present the changes in the modern period and to examine the current approaches. This study aims to examine zakat claim and to propose a Islâmic jurisprudential and contemporary solution to the problem. Key Words: Zakat, claim, debt, Hanafi school of law.
