Özet (EN)

Prior to the Turkish Republic, to the end ot the Ottoman Empire there were discussions about the alphabet. After the Turkish Republic was proclaimed, these discussions continued until 1928.Soon after the beginning of 1928, necessary studies were carried out. In this respect, a language institution was founded. The instution carried out same research for the Latin alphabet instead of Arabic alphabet. On August 9th and 10th, 1928 after Gulhane speech of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk the implementation of the revolution was started.During the implementation process public and parliamentarians were made known about it at the board of Dolmabahce. After that, Ataturk started his trips over the country for explaining and adopting it to the public.On the 1st December 1928 ?Turkish Letter Revolution Act? was voted and on the 3rd December 1928 it was published on the official gazette and started to be implemented officially throughout the country. In this respect as for as education is concerned ?Public Schools? were opened. For domestic affairs documents, libraries, cinema posters, movies, sign boards, gravestones and other studies for other fields were officialized. How foreign correspondence should be carried out was started by directive. In this study, Turkish letters abroad as well as with their studies Turkish letters were evaluated in the foreign press.Keywords: Arab Letters, Bureucracy, Republic, Revolution, Latin Letters, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Turkey.
