Harputlu İshak Efendi's understanding of prophethood

Harputlu İshak Efendi, who lived two hundred years before now and sustained his life in Turkey in a period that can be considered close, has emerged as a theologian (scholar of kalam), but his philosophical personality is also remarkable. His works named Es'ile-i Hikemiyye, Şemsü'l-Hakîka and Zübdetü İlm-i Kelam can be counted among the prominent works in terms of understanding his views concerning Islamic faith. Although he did not address all of the issues of faith as a whole in his works, it is seen that he discussed and explained most of the issues in general. Harputlu adopted the concept of Ahl as-Sunnah kalam and included rational proofs as well as narrated proofs. In this thesis, his understanding of prophecy is revealed based on the works he wrote. Harputlu İshak Efendi's understanding of prophecy has been evaluated within the framework of Ahl al-Sunnah's understanding of prophecy.
