Hasan et-Turâbî's understanding of religion and politics

Hasan Turâbî - known as one of the last İslâmîst figures of Ihvan Movement which has been actively took part in Sudan's politics for long years- ranks among the recently active Islamist philosophers. In the context of this study; while aiming to bring Turâbî's understanding of religion and politics into consideration, his surrounding political, social, religious and cultual environment has been inevitably taken into account. While describing Turâbî's understanding of religion we discussed his Notion of religion, tawhid, prophet, faith and novation. Additionally, we adressed his opinions regarding sciens, art, women and Arab nationalism. In the context of Turâbî's Notion of politics we particularly aimed to discuss his interpretation of the relation between religion and politics. In addition, we examined following concepts from Turâbî's perspective; ideological foundations of the Islamic state, structure of the Islamic governance and represented istitutions within the body of the Islamic state. On the other hand we analyzed the structure of Sudan's Islamic Mowement that Turâbî actively took part in it's establishment.
