A study on Hasan Ozkilic's life and stories

Hasan Özkılıç was born in Yaycı Village of Iğdır and lived there until the age of 17. The author who moved to Turgutlu together with his family in 1968 spent most of his time with agriculture and industry workers until he started studying at university in 1976. He has been living in İzmir since then with his daughter. What made him a familiar and famous aothor was his short stories beyond writing for magazines, being a poet and writing short stories and novels. His first story ''Anamın Umudu'' was publihed for the newspaper Demokrat İzmir in 1974 and his first short story book Kuş Boranı was published in 1998. Except for Kuş Boranı, the writer has five short story books and a novel. The author's many products, some of which were inspired to movies, were awarded. He reflected the idea of 1930-1980s socialist realistic in his products and was inspired from his childhood in Iğdır and the worker's lives in Turgutlu. He reflected his sources to the readers in a plain, fluent language and quite lively. The purpose of this work is to search Özkılıç's stories and to specify what place he has in literature.
