Abstract (EN)
Hasankeyf, located in Turkey's Southeastern Anatolia Region, is a tourism destination with historical and cultural richness. This ancient town, located on the banks of the Tigris River, attracts tourists with its thousands of years of history and natural beauties. This town bears the traces of many civilizations and has been the center of many important civilizations throughout the history, such as Assyria, Urartu, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman. Although Hasankeyf has various historical, cultural and natural resources, it could not achieve the desired level of tourism development. Therefore, this research aims to reveal the effects of tourism development problems on tourist citizenship behavior and electronic word of mouth in the district of Hasankeyf. In this study, a survey was conducted to measure the impact of Hasankeyf tourism development problems on the view of citizenship and electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) of tourists visiting Hasankeyf between September 2022 and May 2023. A total of 500 questionnaires were distributed and 404 questionnaires were filled into the questionnaire completely. SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) program was used in the evaluation of the data obtained in the study. The results of the research revealed that tourism development problems had an effect on tourist citizenship behavior (p:0.000; β:0.484; t: 11.092). On the other hand, it was determined that tourism development problems had no effect on e-WOM (p: 0.112). However, it was determined that tourist citizenship behavior had a significant effect on e-WOM (p: 0.000; β: 0.430; t: 9.561). The citizenship behaviors of tourists visiting Hasankeyf district are positively evaluated. Therefore, the tourists visiting Hasankeyf district will tend to provide more advocacy-help, tolerance and feedback to Hasankeyf in the face of tourism development problems. Finally, tourists will share their experiences and views of Hasankeyf district with other tourists through tourist citizenship behavior via e WOM.
