Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the relationship between Sick Building Syndrome (SBS), job stress, and job satisfaction. SBS is associated with uncertain health symptoms arising from poor indoor air quality and building conditions, significantly affecting the health and well-being of employees. In this context, the study investigates the potential of SBS to increase job stress and, consequently, to reduce job satisfaction. The results of the research conducted with 312 participants working in Kirklareli province, Turkey revealed that there is an inverse and moderate relationship between job satisfaction levels and patient building syndrome perception levels; and finally, there is a same directional and moderate relationship between job stress levels and patient building syndrome levels. It was also found that the correlation between job satisfaction and sick building syndrome level for private sector employees was more than two times higher than the correlation between job satisfaction and sick building syndrome level for public sector employees and finally, the correlation between job stress and sick building syndrome level for private sector employees and the correlation between job stress and sick building syndrome level for public sector employees were very similar to each other.
