Abstract (EN)

Associated with the development of the health sector and facilities, due to the emergence of new treatment opportunities and the increase in the hope of coping with diseases, people have tended to be more involved with health problems and thus the concept of patient rights has also taken its place on the agenda. Patients' rights are one of the most basic and indispensable rights of individuals throughout their lives. Patient rights; These are rights that should be known, protected and protected not only by sick individuals, but also by all healthy individuals, especially physician and healthcare professionals. Although patient rights and the right to refuse medical treatment in this context are so important for human life, unfortunately, it has only been considered and studied in recent years. In our study, we will focus on this topic, which has not been discussed much until this time. The thesis on the right to refuse medical treatment within the scope of patient rights is presented in two sections. In the first section, patient rights within the framework of national and international legislation, patient rights board and units are processed and patient rights are classified. In the second section, the scope of the right to refuse medical treatment, the illumination of the patient in case of refusal of treatment, the special cases of refusal of treatment and the instruction not to resuscitate treatment within the scope of refusal will be discussed.
