Evaluation of approaches to tactical medicine practices of health care professionals in PRE-hospital emergency health services

Evaluating the approaches of the healthcare professionals working in the Prehospital Emergency Health Services to tactical medicine practices; It is aimed to reveal the necessity of newly developing tactical medicine applications that include different approaches from conventional medicine and the awareness levels of the personnel working in this field. Our study was planned as a prospective online survey study with volunteer participants. In the survey, 5 demographic questions and 10 originally questions prepared for the 3-point Likert Scale were used. Obtained survey data were analyzed comparatively. It was determined that 38.4% of the participants had heard of the concept of tactical medicine before and 40.4% had taken part in the operation. It was determined that gender, working area, hearing the concept of tactical medicine and participating in the operation affected thinking on traditional and field practices (p<0.05). It was determined that gender, hearing the concept of tactical medicine and participating in the operation affected thinking on the priority of bleeding control (p<0.05). For tourniquet application in extremity bleeding, the effects of the working time and the working area were determined (p<0.05). Upon the application of tourniquets to the double-bone area, it was determined that the title, working time, hearing the concept of tactical medicine and taking part in the operations affected thinking (p<0.05). It was determined that the title, working area, hearing the concept of tactical medicine and participating in the operation affected thinking on the application of nasopharyngeal airway in airway management (p<0.05). Regarding needle decompression in suspected pneumothorax, It was determined that working time, working area and hearing the concept of tactical medicine affected thinking (p<0.05). In the preferred fluid in hemorrhagic shock it was determined that hearing the concept of title, working area and tactical medicine affected thinking (p<0.05). In approach to hypothermia, it was determined that the title and the working area affected thinking (p<0.05). As a result; It is understood that the healthcare professionals working in the pre-hospital Emergency Health Services adhere to the Advanced Trauma Life Support guideline that they were trained in, and do not have a good grasp of tactical medicine practices in trauma patients.
