Abstract (EN)
The tile art, which is an important decoration element of religious and civil architecture, has a history dating back centuries. The tile art, which adorns the buildings as an aesthetic value, reached its peak during the Ottoman period. Hatice Turhan Sultan Tomb, which is one of the 17th century Ottoman buildings were stolen, has been examined for the thesis and evaluated its tile panels in it. In addition, some subjects such as the concept of the tomb, the Ottoman architecture, the Turkish tile art have been included and expanded the thesis. In the study, the tile panels in the tomb have been examined as composition, color, position and condition, and their situations before and after the restoration have been documented by visuals. Tile panels have been drawn with the autocad program, and the paintings have been done in the photoshop program. Comparison of similar tile panels on different structures built in the same periods has been made. For years, the tiles in such structures were stolen, looted or lost. Even though some of the stolen ceramics of Hatice Turhan Sultan Tomb, one of the places where these events experienced were found, the tomb still contains missing parts on the tiled surfaces. For this reason, there are plenty of drawings and images related to the tile panels, it is aimed to create a resource that will provide guidance to the people who would like to do research after years. This art which is our cultural heritage is a unique value from past to present. It is our hope that it will be protected deservedly and be conveyed to future generations properly.
