Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the recreational tendencies of TurkishAir Force Academy Personel and to put forward the rating of possibilities of Turkish AirForce Academy Personel?s recreational expectations.300 personnels from Turkish Air Force Academy were assigned as example inthis study.The data analyzed by using SPSS 11.0. Frequency, percentage, and chi-squareanalyses were used.When personel informations were taken into considerationmales percentage washigher (%78,3). 26-30 years of age group was in the first rank (%34,3). %65,7 of subjectswere married and %26 were single. %53,3 of subjects were defined their income level asmiddle class. 5 years and below was the first rank in professional seniority.When spare time of personnel?s was investigated it was found that %55,7 of themhad 1-2 hours, %33 of them had 3-4 hours and %11,3 of them had no spare time.%75,3 (226) of the subjects have answered positive to the question that ?ifrecreational activities increase the efficiency of work or not? and %24,7 (74) of the subjectshave answered ?partly?.%52,7 of the subjects participated to activities with their friends, %34,7participated with family and %12,7 participated alone.Relaxation and getting stressed out was in the first rank in the benifits ofparticipating to recreational activities.Social and cultural activities were the first (%36,3), sport activities were thesecond, tracking etc. were the third most asked activities by the subjects and educatşonalactivities were the last.There was significant differences between age groups and exercise habitsparameters at p<0,05, and there was significant differences between income level and ageparameters also at p<0,05.Keywords: Recreation, Air Force Personnel
