Özet (EN)
In this study, the performance and exhaust emission tests of a single cylinder, air cooled, 4 stroke gasoline engine using LPG and gasoline fuel were performed and the results obtained from the experiments were compared with each other. The experiments were carried out at five different throttle openings (20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100%) at engine speed (2600 rpm), in which maximum torque is obtained, from the engine with gasoline and LPG. According to the experimental results, average engine moment and engine power decreased by 4.15%, specific fuel consumption and fuel consumption decreased by 16.45% and 16.77%, respectively, by using LPG compared to gasoline. However, when CO, CO2 and HC emissions decreased by 35%, 2.5% and 35.36%, respectively; while NOX emissions increased by 88% compared to gasoline. Keywords: LPG, Spark ignition engine, Engine performance, Exhaust emissions.
