Aviation industry is one of the fastest growing industry nowadays. Also, shift work is most widely seen in the aviation industry. Therefore, the major aim of this study is to investigate the shift workers and day workers in aviation industry according to some demografic variables, by "SCL90" symptom check list. The data was gathered from aviation industry employees in Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Batman, Bodrum, Muğla, Elazığ, Gaziantep, İstanbul, İzmir, Kayseri, Konya, Nevşehir, Sivas, Trabzon, by simple random sampling method. Symptom check list was fulfilled by 152 current employees (90 shift worker and 62 day worker). Personal information of the subject group were obtained by "Personal Information Form" prepared by researcher and the pyschological symptoms index data were obtained by using a symptom check list, "SCL90". t-test and correlation analysis were used for the analysis of the collected data. It was determined that, in some subscales of SLC90 (somatisation, depression, interpersonal sensitivity, phobic anxiety), there are statistically significant psychologic differences between shift workers and day workers. Additionally, gender variable has significant difference only in "Somatisation" subscale. It was also determined that, "Anxiety", "Obsession", "Depression" subscale indexes have positive correlation with increase of "Seniority" variable. Lastly, it was found that, "Anxiety", "Obsession", "Depression" and "Interpersonal Sensitivity" subscale indexes have positive correlation with "Age" variable.
