The image of house in Haydar Ergülen poetry

Haydar Ergülen, one of the leading poets of image poetry and modern Turkish poetry in the 1980s, played an important role in the development and increasing the aesthetic level of poetry with his workings, discussions and most importantly the poetry books he published. The main purpose of this thesis is to observe and identify the poets of the 1980 generation who prefer not to go outdoors and to withdraw from the public space where the city destroyed the individual and to withdraw into the houses and into themselves. All poetry books and many prose books of Haydar Ergülen (Zarf, Aşk Şiirleri Antolojisi, Üzgün Kediler Gazeli, Keder Gibi Ödünç,40 Şiir ve Bir, Ölüm Bir Sıkandal, Nar Bütün Şiirleri-1, Hafız ile Semender Bütün Şiirleri-2, Öyle Küçük Şeyler ve Sen Güneş Kokuyorsun Daha!) were included in this thesis in order to carry out the study in a more holistic way and to achieve more objective results to the evaluations. In the "Introduction" chapter of the thesis, the relationship between literature and place, the history of the house and its relationship with literature and the relationship of the house with poetry are mentioned. In the first part of the thesis named "Houses in the Poems of Haydar Ergülen", how the image of the house took part is discussed. In second chapter that generates main purpose of the thesis named "Substantial Review to House Theme In Haydar Ergülen's Poems" we determined the substantial and the imaginative/imaginary house and in third chapter we brought a different point of view to the house's indoors, outdoor and balcony parts that took place only in third chapter named "Imaginary Review to House Theme In Haydar Ergülen's Poems". In the episode named "Other Images Reminding Home Metaphor in Haydar Ergülen Poems" as the last of the chapters moving from reality to abstraction, we tried to determine and show the images (desert, train, death and life, poem, paper, word and sentence, letter, body, childhood and family (İdil and Nar)) that Ergülen took refuge in and the house was a spiritual journey to his soul for him.
