Abstract (EN)
Bayburt province is considered to be an organic area due to its large pasture areas, its location between the Çoruh basin and the Kelkit valley, its distance from industrial establishments and the low fertiliser use of the farmers in the region. In this respect, agriculture and animal husbandry come to the fore as the most important economic source of the province. However, covid-19, which emerged in Wuhan, China towards the end of 2019 and then spread all over the world, is considered to be one of the most periodic epidemics that manifests itself with the closure of people to their homes, travel restrictions, problems in the food supply chain and economic contractions. In this context, a survey study was conducted to examine the effects of covid 19 on farmers (175 units), animal product producing enterprises (49 units) and markets (163 units) in Bayburt. With this study, the general demographic characteristics of farmers, product producing enterprises and markets in Bayburt province were examined. The survey method was used in the study and the data obtained from the producers were analysed with SPSS 25 package programme. ANOVA test, T-test and Correlation analyses were applied to the data obtained and the results were evaluated in the study. When the study is evaluated, it is stated that the majority of our farmers benefited from the supports of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry during the covid 19 period, but these supports were not sufficient, more support should be provided, consumers' demand for meat and dairy products decreased during this period, there was a partial difficulty in finding animal feed, and consumers started to give importance to natural nutrition during this period. In addition, they stated that they took measures to protect animal health and the health of visitors and workers during this period, and that they paid more attention to cleanliness and in this context, more costs were incurred for cleaning materials and equipment. It was stated that raw milk storage tanks were not sufficient in enterprises producing animal products, production decreased, labour force and cleaning costs increased due to cleaning measures. It was stated that the markets had difficulties in the supply of meat and dairy products during the Covid 19 period, the market revenues decreased due to the supply problems experienced, and the consumption habits of the public towards meat and dairy products in general changed. As a result, the Covid 19 outbreak has caused great economic difficulties worldwide. In our country, especially the problems in the supply chain and the fear of the public against animal products have negatively affected our farmers and markets.
