Abstract (EN)

This study aims to analyze the literary articles of the second year of the journal Hazine-i Fünȗn between the twenty-seventh and the fifty-second issues. Known to have started its publication life in 1885 with a single issue that only includes science topics, the Hazine-i Fünȗn has switched to a weekly magazine format since 1893. Despite its name, which means "treasure of science", the content of the journal consists more of literary texts than science articles. These texts, which are very important in terms of addressing some issues of literature, especially language, also include issues that care about social morality from time to time. In this regard, the first aim of our study is to classify the mentioned literary texts according to their types. Then, we have examined these texts by transferring them to today's Turkish and interpreting them in a very understandable language. In our analysis, we have found that these texts are articles that have both literary value and are not somewhat indifferent to social issues. This enables us to conclude that despite the censorship experienced in the period, the magazine did not completely break away from society and was not a superficial magazine.
