Abstract (EN)

This thesis aims to investigate the correlation between anti-HBc IgG levels and HBeAg, anti-HBe, and HBV DNA levels in individuals who are HBsAg positive. The study retrospectively analyzed the data of 286 individuals who were HBsAg and anti-HBc IgG positive, followed at Adıyaman Training and Research Hospital between January 2021 and January 2023. The study included the analysis of age, gender, HBsAg, anti-HBc IgG, HBeAg, anti-HBe, and HBV DNA values of the individuals. Data analysis was conducted by comparing relevant test results and examining the relationships between these variables using statistical methods. Correlation analyses were employed to assess the strength and direction of relationships between markers. Additionally, ROC analysis was performed to identify numerical cut-off points for the relationships between the data. Correlation tests revealed a negative correlation between anti-HBc IgG and anti-HBe, and a statistically significant negative relationship was also observed between anti-HBe and HBV DNA. As a result of the ROC analysis, a threshold of 2000 IU/mL was determined for HBV DNA, and cut-off values were studied for anti-HBc IgG and anti-HBe. The study aims to investigate the relationship between anti-HBc IgG and other hepatitis B markers, evaluating how it might contribute to prioritization strategies in the selection of patients for biopsy. Specifically, it is anticipated that such a strategy could offer a more effective approach in the planning of Hepatitis B treatment by focusing on the development of non-invasive methods. The study aims to shed light on future research, helping to improve Hepatitis B treatment strategies and reduce unnecessary invasive procedures.
