Abstract (EN)

In Heidegger?s thought, modern subject grasps Being through knowing, which is solely a theoretical act, and his self-understanding, therefore, is deficient and inaccurate. Heidegger?s critique of subjectivity targets traditional Western philosophy beginning with Plato that underestimates the depth of the question of Being in favour of epistemological certitude, hence, produces non-contextual metaphysical thinking. Traditional posture of philosophy, inevitably, bears a fundamental failure by seeking to define Being on the basis of non-contextual epistemological certainties, instead of grasping it as a holistic occurrence. Consequently, both our self understanding and the comprehension about the world are determined inaccurately by this fundamental failure. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate all the philosophical questions with a deconstructive ontological approach. This, as Heidegger puts it ?fundamental ontology?, is the main argument of his philosophy, and it also shapes his critique of subjectivity. In this work, primarily, the perception of subjectivity of the traditional metaphysics will be described in the light of Heideggerean critique. Following will be the explication of the fundamental justifications which enables the critique. Consequently, the claims; whether Heidegger?s critique of subjectivity together with his conception of Dasein is succesful to overcome the idea of the subject or he has only managed to bring about a new conception of the same issue, will be discussed comperatively.
