Abstract (EN)
In the scope of this thesis, the fortresses around Smyrna in the Hellenistic Period were examined according to their positions and sight lines. The sight lines were determined by observations and computerized analyzes. Surveillance spots were also included in the study in order to understand the relationship between the fortresses and their surroundings. The fortress, the surveillance spots and watch towers, road networks and border relations are discussed.
