Nurses' authenticity and psychological resilience levels and the relationship between them

This research that was made descriptive in order to determined the level of authenticity and psychological resilience also to evaluate the relationship between these concepts in nurses. The universe of this research is the nurses working in the hospitals in Ankara City Center, and the sample were formed from Health Sciences University 689 nurses working in Dr. Zekai Tahir Burak Women Health Training and Research Hospital (233 nurses) and Ankara Training and Research Hospital (456 nurses). The data of the study were obtained from 189 nurses who voluntarily participated in the study and met the inclusion criteria between 1 March - 20 August 2019. IBM SPSS Statistics 20 program was used to evaluate the data. Statistical significance limit as p<0.05 and internal consistency limit as 0.70 and higher was accepted. Spearman Correlation coefficient was used to examine the relationship of scales with each other. In addition, in comparing the scale and subscale scores with independent variables Mann Whitney U test in two-group independent variables and Kruskal Wallis Variance Analysis were used in independent variables with more than two groups. The average age of the nurses is 31.31 ± 8.25 and 92.6% of them are women; 54% are married; 44.4% of them have children; 64% are undergraduate graduates; 61.9% of them work in intensive care; 34.6% of them work as a nurse more than 9 years. It has been determined that the majority of nurses are satisfied with their profession and are members of a professional organization, are interested in an out-of-work hobby, set goals for the future and receive assistance in problem solving. These situations increase the psychological resilience of nurses. As the level of authenticity of nurses increases, their psychological resilience decreases.
