SUMMARY The expectations of patients according to nurses and establishing of covering these expectations. The increasing demand for healt services and in spite of this the resources are limited, this situation directs countries to improve their healt systemes in order to cover the increasing demand effectively and to gain importance for the quality healt services. Everbody has the right to get the best and reachable healt service, which requires constantly to improve service quality as long as the present economical resources suffice. Nursing services have a special place in healt care. Because the professional group who spend most of time with patients and helps them with personal care are nurses. This research, which gained importance with the stated reasons of the nursing services, is planned as cross- section sort that covers definitive elements with the aim of the nurses assessment temselves. The aim of the research performed to examine the expectations of the patients according to nurses ismade up of 265 nurses working in Malatya İnönü University Turgut Özal Medical Center Research and Application Hospital The survey formed by receiving the opinion of the relatedSpecialist professors has been applied to 240 nurses (%90.5) under observation without getting sample in April- May 2000. One- hundred and forty (140) of the nurses focused on 21-25 age group (%59.4), sixty- two (62) of the nurses focused on 26-30 age group (%26.2), fourteenth of the nurses focused on 20 and under age group (%5.9), the last seventh of the nurses focused on 36 and above age group. One- hundred and fifty third of the nurses (%64.3) are single, and seventy eighth (%32.8) are married. When it comes to examine their education leves; forty- seventh (%19.7) of the nurses graduated from Healt Vocational high- school, one- hundred and forty fifth (%60.7) of the nurses graduated from HealtServices Vocational College, the rest are nursing college graduation. One- Hundred and fifty- four of the nurses are temporarily emplayed (%64.4), eghty- five of the ones are on the permament staff. According to nurses, when examining the relationship between the patients expectotions from nursing services and nurses owen professional application; while communication and personal feature puans are meaningful as statistical, professional proficıeiîce puans are not on the statistical level. There is no meaningful relationship between official dudy duration and communication on personal feature and professional proficiency puanson statistical level. Between the nurses who are on the permanent staff and on the temporarily employed; there is no meaningful difference on satistical level in terms of communication, personal feature and professional froficiency puans. There is no meaningfulrelationship between age, commmunication and professional proficiency puans on statisticallevel, while there is meaningful, positive relationship between age and personal feature puans.
