Abstract (EN)
XISUMMARYAlthough the DVT illness has a vital complication such as pulmonaryembolism, the lack of knowledge on this matter is a undeniable reality. In this study, thedetermination of the knowledge of orthopedics and traumathology nurses having the riskof DVT illness of utmost level, internal medicine nurses and nurses of ear-nose-throat-eye department who have the lowest risk of DVT illness was aimed.The study was applied by a questionary evaluating the knowledge level of120 nurses including 45 orthopedics and traumatology nurses, 45 internal medicinenurses and 30 nurses of ear-nose-throat-eye department about the risk factors,physiopathology, nurse care of the DVT illness and the complication of illness between2005 October and May.The obtained data was evaluated by the computer program SPSS 11.0.The effect of how long she has been a nurse, the experience in that clinic andeducation on the knowledge level of nurses about the DVT illness has been researchedby the obtained result.As a conclusion, it has been determined that the knowledge level of tehe nursesof orthopedics and traumathology department where the risk is high-except for thephysiopathology department about the risk factors, care, complications of the illness ishigher than the knowledge level of nurses of ear-nose-throat-eye department. It has beendetermined that the nurses who attend the guestionary about physiopathology of theillness have lack of knowledge .It has been determined that the experience in the clinicand education is efficient on the knowledge level , not how long she has been a nurse.Key words: Orthopedical surgery, nurse, deep veins thrombosis, pulmonary embolism.PDF created with pdfFactory trial version www.pdffactory.com
