Abstract (EN)

Today, nurse managers who have internalized organization culture and have leadership qualities are needed. In this sense, the aim of the study is to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool that is able to determine cultural leadership level of nurse managers by nurses' assessments. A total of 355 nurses working at the hospitals in the city center of Trabzon Province consisted of the sample of the explanatory factor analysis while the sample of the confirmatory factor analysis was consisted of 258 nurses. Test-retest analysis was done with a total of 50 nurses. Data were gathered using Information Request Form, Cultural Leadership Scale and Value Based Leadership Scale. In line with the findings obtained, surface validity was achieved and content validity index was found to be 0.77. For explanatory factor analysis; Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin value was 0.95, Barlett test was X2=7991.66 (p<0.05) and anti image correlation values varied between 0.92 and 0.97. Explanatory factor analysis, performed using Principal Components Analysis and Promax Analysis, provided a Cultural Leadership Scale of 23 items with four subdimensions and factor burden rates of items ranged from 0.951 to 0.643. For confirmatory factor analysis; corrected Χ2/Sd rate was found to be 1.95, RMSEA value 0.061, CFI value 0.95 and NFI value was 0.90. These fit indexes are satisfactory and the structure of Cultural Leadership Scale, formed by explanatory factor analysis, was confirmed. Besides, correlation value for convergent and discriminant validity was found to be 0.83, Spearman-Brown 0.88 after DFA, Guttman Split-Half 0.88 and Cronbach Alpha value 0.95. Item-total correlation ratios varied between 0.57 and 0.74 and test-retest analysis gave r=0.78 (p<0.001) and t=0.671 (p>0.05). Also; average score of the total scale of nurse managers was 3.81±0.77. Nurses' perceiving the nurse manager as a cultural leader was affected by considering the nurse manager as a leader, being satisfied from the nurse manager, working on the surgery unit and being satisfied from the hospital; respectively. As a result; Cultural Leadership Scale can be used as a valid and reliable measuring scale by nurses who are the followers of the nurse managers in order to determine their cultural leadership level.
