Effective parameters on the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds

Synthesis of natural active compounds is very long and costly. Therefore, studies to reduce the time and/or cost of these reactions are very important. The synthesis of heterocyclic compounds containing functional groups has an important place in the field of organic chemistry. The fact that many natural compounds and especially the main active ingredients of drugs form heterocyclic compounds has focused attention on these compounds. Catalytic diazo reactions are the most widely used methods for synthesizing heterocyclic compounds. In particular, by using conjugated carbonyl compounds as substrates, targeted synthesis of different heterocyclic compounds can be realized depending on the type of catalyst used and reaction conditions. In this thesis, the products formed from the reactions of imines containing different functional groups, with ethyl diazoacetate and dimethyl diazomalonate compounds in the presence of rhodium acetate and copper acetylacetonate, and the parameters affecting the formation of these products were investigated.The reaction products are expected to be formed by [2+1] cycloaddition (cyclopropanization), 1,5-electrocyclic ring closure or C-H insertion reactions.However, other products formed were also evaluated and the reasons behind their formation were investigated.
