Özet (EN)
This study intends to provide the power continuity of 1200W wind-solar hybrid power generating system set up to lighten the Electric Machinery Labratory, Control Systems Labratory and Power Systems Labratory of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of Faculty of Technology of Afyon Kocatepe University for research and development purposes. A 500W fuel cell and 24V DC 300 Ah battery group is integrated to this system within the scope of the study. The study also proposes to determine and to control the efficiency of the power generated by the hybrid power generating system. Microcontroller supported control system is designed in order to efficiently use the production and consumption power of the power generating system which includes wind-solar power and fuel cell. This control system will contribute not only to provide power continuity but also to prolong its physical life by preventing it from being consistently activated. The power continuity is provided by the control system by activating the battery group and/or fuel cell in cases which the demand of the consumer cannot be satisfied with the main power sources, wind and solar power. After a certain charging rate in which there is no more energy requirement, the control system desactivates them in order to prevent unnecessary power consumption. Furthermore, it is intended to apply this study to rural areas by generating power independent from grid circuit. It is envisaged to satisfy the main power requirements including lightening, irrigation and maintenance of the security camera systems especially in rural areas and in regions which can not benefit from grid circuit. In addition to the definition of the purpose and the scope of the study, the previous studies held in the field is described in the initial part of the paper. In the second part, the current situation of the power sources in the World and in Turkey is described and general information about solar and wind power is given. Subsequently, the properties and the functions of the compounds of the hybrid power generating system is discussed. In the third part, calculations necessary to determine the compounds of the hybrid power generating system are made and the appropriate system is designed by taking their costs into consideration. In the fourth part, findings obtained by data and parameters affecting the findings are given. Consequently in the last part, the results are evaluated.
