Abstract (EN)

KISAKOL, Mustafa, Hinduism's Fundamental Doctrines Based on Bhagavad Gita, (Master's Degree Thesis), Çorum, 2019. This study does research subject to Hinduism's basic religious teachings that is so common in Indian the source of these teachings, the Bhagavad Gita a chapter of epic Mahabharata of the country with which we have both cultural and political relations from past times till present. My thesis consists of four focal fractions as an introduction, two main sections and the conclusion. Within the introduction part first of all; the purposes, topics, extent, methods of thesis have been mentioned. In addition to that, the special cases regarding the reasons, why Hinduism was chosen as a subject of research, has been stated in the introduction part. While researching this religious tradition's basic doctrines, we focused and paid attention to the Mahabharata and the Bhagavad Gita which consist the key stones of this research. The reasons making the Mahabharata and the Bhagavad Gita center of my thesis have been stated within details. Also, while depicting the importance of the Mahabharata and the Bhagavad Gita in the Indian culture, the effects of them on members of this belief and famous Indian philosophers have been pointed out. Some samples from the authorities all over the world concerning this topic have been shared. In the first section, epic Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita's introduction and plot summary of Mahabharata have been given. Following that information about Bhagavad Gita and eighteen parts of it have been presented. In addition under-standing of God and ways to be able to reach God have been provided referencing from Bhagavad Gita with the samples. In the second section eternal soul, atman-brahman, samsara, tapas, avatara, karma, maya and cast system as basic teachings have been explained and discussed in detail. In this section, taking Bhagavad Gita as a reference primarily, also religious texts and the current studies of Hinduism and the sources written on the religious system have been applied. In conclusion part, the importance of Bhagavad Gita, understanding of God and soul in Hinduism have been examined. Also the basic religious teachings of Hinduism such as; atman-brahman relation, avatara, samsara-tenasuh, karma, maya, tapas and cast system have been analyzed and evaluated.
