Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to compare the macroscopic and microscopic properties of leukocytes and platelet-rich fibrin (L-PRF) membranes obtained from hyperlipidemic and healthy individuals. A total of 60 individuals, 30 of whom were hyperlipidemic (test group) and 30 of whom were healthy (control group), were included in our study. 2 tubes (20 ml) of blood from each participant were centrifuged in an IntraSpinTM table top centrifuge device at 2700 rpm for 12 minutes according to the original L-PRF centrifugation protocol. A PRF box and 1 mm metal plates were used to transform the fibrin clot structure obtained after centrifugation into membranes and standardize their thickness. One of the L-PRF membranes obtained as a result of these processes was preserved under suitable conditions to be examined in SEM. The width, length and weight of the other membrane were calculated and the fibrin network structure was examined under the light microscope using the cell block cytology method. According to the results of the study, the width and length of L-PRF membranes obtained from healthy individuals were found to be statistically significantly larger than those of hyperlipidemic individuals (p<0.05), while there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of weight (p>0.05). As a result of the histological examination, the density of the L-PRF network structure of hyperlipidemic individuals was found to be statistically significant compared to healthy individuals. As a result of SEM examination, it was seen that the fibrin network structures in the test group were thinner and different compared to the control group. At the same time, a gummy structure was observed between the fibrin fibers of some hyperlipidemic individuals. As a result of the data obtained from this study, L-PRF membranes obtained from hyperlipidemic individuals were found to be different macroscopically and microscopically compared to healthy individuals.
