Abstract (EN)
Aim: This study was carried out to determine the effect of nursing education for individiuals aged 65 and over with hypertension on drug compliance self efficacy and fear of Covid-19. Material and Methods: In the study between March 2021 and December 2021, the intervention group:70, the experimental group:70,140 hypertensive elderly individuals who accepted the study and were registered in the Family Health Centers in Kastamonu Province Tosya district center and did not have a speech included. The study was conducted as a pre-test-post-test randomized controlled trial. Nursing education programs was applied to the patients in the internention grup. Previously, data were collected with, descriptive form, Medication Adherence Self-efficacy Scale Forms. One month after the training, the same scales were applied to the experimental group again. Shapiro-Wilk test, Kolmogorow-Smirnow test, t test, Mann Whitney U test, One-way analysis of variance, Duncan test, Kruskall Wallis test, Dunn test were used to evaluate the data. Results: A statistically significant diffirence found between the median values of the drug adherence scale pre-test and post-tests scores (p<0,001). Here, the median value of the drug compliance scale pre-test score was 24, While the median value of the post-test score was 35. A statistically significant difference was found between the median values of the pre-tests score of Covid-19 Fear scale pre-test score was 23, while the median value of the post-test score was 12.5. Conclusion: It has been found that nursing education is effective in increasing the compliance of elderly individuals with hypertension and reducing their fear of Covid-19.
