Abstract (EN)

Hisar magazine has kept the doors of Turkish literature open to the past and tradition. It has become an idea, art and literature magazine that aims to raise young poets as a castle where art and artists can take shelter, adopting the principle of not rooting, and desiring to build a bridge to the future. The magazine, which gathered many literary figures, came to the fore especially in the field of poetry. In this context, the aim of the study has been determined as to reveal the poetry and poet criticisms within the scope of Hisar magazine. In the research, document analysis was carried out using the qualitative method. Seventy-five issues published in the first publication period of Hisar and two hundred two issues published in the second publication period were discussed. Data were collected by examining two hundred seventy-seven issues of the entire journal. As a result of the examinations, it was determined how Hisar magazine defined the Turkish poetry of the period, how it saw the portrait of the poet and how it criticized the poetry books. In the definitions of poetry in the magazine, it was concluded that poetry, as a product of emotion, reflects beauty and truth together with music and harmony, and that it is the art of making shapes with words. It was emphasized that the young poets of the period did not seek personality, but tended towards imitation. Within the scope of the study, it was determined that forty-four Turkish poets were criticized for their understanding of poetry in the articles about poetry in the Hisar magazine. Among these poets, Ahmet Haşim, Ahmet Muhip Dıranas, Munis Faik Ozansoy, Yahya Kemal Beyatlı, Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı, Tevfik Fikret, Cahit Külebi, Mehmet Çınarlı, Mustafa Necati Karaer and Gültekin Sâmanoğlu were criticized the most. In the study, it was determined that poetry criticism was made for the books of one hundred Turkish poets in the Hisar magazine. It has been determined that the poets whose poetry books are most criticized are Arif Nihat Asya, Behçet Necatigil, Nüzhet Erman, Feyzi Halıcı, Yahya Akengin, Osman Attilâ, Oktay Rifat Horozcu, Rıza Apak and Nahit Ulvi Akgün.
