Abstract (EN)

SUMMARYEndometrial polyps are localized hyperplastic overgrowths of endometrium that contain both endometrial glands and stroma. The large majority of these lesions are benign. Polyps have a variable presentation; they can occur as individual or multiple lesions, range in size from millimeters to centimeters, and can be sessile or pedunculated.Implantation is the process by which the free-floating blastocyst attaches to the endometrium, invades the stroma and establishes the trophoblast. The process involves a complex dialogue between the endometrium and the conceptus that is mediated by soluble growth factors, hormones, adhesion molecules, the extracellular matrix and prostaglandins. Up to 25% of women with unexplained infertility have endometrial polyps on hysteroscopy. However, their effect on endometrial receptivity and fertility is unclear.In humans, HOXA 10, HOXA 11 and LIF are expressed in proliferative phase endometrial glands and stroma, and expression of these genes is markedly up-regulated in the midsecretory glands at the time of implantation.Markers of endometrial receptivity, HOXA10, HOXA11 and LIF were used to investigate the effect of endometrial polyps on endometrium. Study included 25 women, All patients underwent hysteroscopy in the proliferative phase of the menstrual cycle When an endometrial polyp was present, it was excised under hysteroscopic guidance. Endometrial tissue sample was taken before and after hysteroscopic polipectomy on day 21 (implantation period). Each endometrial tissue sample was stored in 1 mL of RNAlater solution We investigated receptivity markes mRNA, HOXA10, HOXA11 and LIF, expression before and after hystoroscopic resection. Messenger RNA (mRNA) levels were analyzed by quantitative real-time reverse-transcriptase polymerase chainreaction (RT-PCR). We could?nt find any statistical significant difference between pre operative and post operative two groups (p>0.05).Key Words: Endometrial polyps, endometrial receptivity, HOX genes, LIF
