Abstract (EN)

Anatolian territories have embraced many civilizations since the earliest times. Anatolia was made unique from civilizations, that wrote its history. One of these original civilizations belongs to the Hittites. Hittite, one of tribes at the 2nd millennium B.C., lasted about 500 years, in the central Anatolia. Hittites was one of the nations which used writing effectively. Because, they accepted as a mission, telling their past to future generations. It is possible to come across with Hittite's historiography skills in the their of annals, texts of political treaties, memoirs, prayer texts, stories, decrees, etc. They had a dynamic expression ability in their historical texts. Their historical awareness have made them superior to other nations. Although religious factors was an important factor in the description of history narrative, this feature did not apply to all. It is not known exactly when Hittites acquire these habits. The first example of the historiography is accepted as Anitta. Also, II. Murşili is the most important history writer. Their archiving habits are a clear proof how they cared their past.
