The life, works of Hocazāde Muḥammed Rāsim, and verification and analysis of his book Zübdetü't-Tarīḳa

Hocazāde Muḥammed Rāsim was a well-known person who lived in 19th century as a judge in different provinces and territories of Ottoman Empire and also a jurist and sufī in various ranks of his work. Right along with his work he didn't refrain from scholarly activities, rather he edited several books in almost all areas of Islamic studies. His books are found mainly in The Library of Istanbul University's collections as manuscripts. This thesis comprises of introduction, four chapters and appendix. After giving information about the life and studies of Hocazāde Muḥammed Rāsim, we dealt with his treatise named as Zübdetü't-Ṭarīḳa. In other chapters of our study, we aimed at to put forward about His ideas on Sufism with verification, translation and analysis methods. Zübdetü't-Ṭarīḳa as a book which includes Dawran (Sufī Whirling), Samaʿ (Audition), Raḳṣ (Sufī Dance), Dhikr al-Jaliy (The Open Recitation), Teġannī (Melody), Laḥn (Descant) and Rabita (spiritual connection) subjects in it, is a significant manuscript who involves debates that come through centuries in Sufī circles. As a matter of fact, these issues, especially some of them, were debated by jurists and sufīs, and took an important place throughout the history.
