Abstract (EN)
In this study, the validity of the Environmental Kuznets Curve hypothesis has been tested for the Netherlands, Norway, Nigeria and Indonesia, which carry risk to get caught to the Dutch Disease. In the study, the Johansen cointegration test was applied by using the GDP per capita and the ecological footprint per capita, annual data for the 1961-2017 period. According to the analysis results, it is concluded that there is a reverse-N for Netherlands and Norway, and an N-shaped relationship for Nigeria and Indonesia, and the Environmental Kuznets Curve hypothesis is not valid.
