Abstract (EN)

With the developing technology, augmented reality and digital hologram technology, which is the sub-title of augmented reality, is observed to be widely used in many fields, especially in architecture. It is considered that these technologies will be integrated into the field of architectural preservation. In both techniques, the aim is to make virtual objects perceptible in the real world. With this feature, the subject of this thesis study has been determined as the evaluation of the use of hologram technology in the field of architectural preservation. In addition to the thought that the reconstructed building does not reflect the originality values, therefore, it cannot replace the old building in any way; and it has taken its place among the discussions that it is inevitable to apply the reconstruction in terms of preserving the place of the destroyed building in the urban memory. St. Clement's Church which is one of the important cultural heritages of Ankara was determined as an application area within the scope of the study. A restitution study of the building was carried out and a reconstruction proposal was put forward. It is aimed to ensure the real-world perceptibility of the structure, whose three-dimensional work is done in the virtual environment, with digital hologram technology, and thus to bring a different perspective to the reconstruction discussions.
