Abstract (EN)

CD 36 (Cluster of Differentiation 36) is a member of class B scavenger reseptor family, expressed in cells and tissues including monocytes/macrophages, platelets, microvascular endothelial cells. CD 36 also functions uptake and degradation of oxidized low density lipoprotein (OxLDL) in adipocytes.Homocystein is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. It was reported that homocystein plays important role in endothelial disfunction, vascular smooth muscle proliferation, increased lipoprotein oxidation and platelet activation. High serum homocystein levels were also noticed in obese subjects with several studies. Relationship between Hcy and CD 36 in adipose tissue has not been studied. In this study investigation of the effect of Hcy, involved in many pathological cases, on adipocyte differentation and CD 36 expression in 3T3-L1 cell lines was purposed.It was determined that adipocyte differentation was found decreased statistically significant in cells treated with Hcy (p<0,05). Gene expression of CD 36 increased but was not statistically significant (p>0.05).It was concluded that Hcy reduces adipcyte diffentation in 3T3-L1 cell lines but has no significant effect on CD 36 gene expression in adipose tissue.
