Abstract (EN)
The graduate thesis named "Hopa Stream Basin Applied Geomorphology Study" was prepared by Asena ÇETİNKAYA, Istanbul University Social Sciences Institute, Geography Department student 2501180064. Hopa Stream Basin is the region where floods, flooding and landslide disasters that cause loss of life and property and increase in violence and frequency compared to previous years. It is aimed to reveal the causes and consequences of the disaster by examining the natural and human characteristics of the basin in order to evaluate the risk of the dangers that may occur in the basin and to investigate the disasters that occurred in the past and to prevent future disasters. The necessary climate, morphology and population data were collected in order to obtain the results and results of the study, and the geographical features of the basin were determined and the factors forming the risk factor were determined. As a result of the analysis, it has been determined that the precipitation has been seasonally changed by evaluating the 56-year climate data. Due to the geographical features of the basin; It is understood that natural events such as flood, flooding and landslide will continue to occur in the Hopa Stream Basin. However, in order to minimize the damage and prevent these natural events from turning into disasters, it is necessary to see the mistakes made especially in construction and to find solutions. Sustainable life by harmonizing with nature will bring the most positive results for both our nature and our future.
