Özet (EN)

Mortars containing lime were frequently used in the construction of structures from the ancient times when lime was found to the discovery of cement. The use of cement has become widespread thanks to its advantages such as being easy to supply and applicable, improving its properties at the desired level with pozzolan and chemical additives, having high strength, and setting quickly. In addition to these advantages of cement, there are damages caused by its production to the environment. Cement production causes high greenhouse gas emissions. 7-8% of the total carbon emission in the world is due to cement production. Considering that it is the most consumed building material in the world, the damage it causes to the environment cannot be ignored. Salts in cement cause damage by causing volume expansion with the effects of water over time. Mortars containing cement; since its density and thermal conductivity coefficient are high, it can cause condensation and thus humidification of the building. Since cement-containing mortars have small pores, it is difficult for any water coming into the structure to be drained by evaporation. In this study, it has been tried to produce alternative mortars to cement mortars by improving the properties of lime mortar with plant additives and geopolymer additives. Production was carried out in two stages. In the first stage, lime, broken brick and plant additives were used. Plant additives used; oak leaf juice, oak bark juice, oak wood ash. In the second stage, additives containing geopolymer were used. Varying amounts of fly ash and blast furnace slag were used as pozzolans and sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate were used to activate them. Flow table and vicat tests were carried out on the fresh concrete samples produced, and unit volume weight, water absorption, porosity, bending and compressive strength tests were carried out on the hardened samples after they were kept at room conditions for 28 days. As a result of the experiments, it was observed that the additives had positive effects on the properties of the samples.
