Abstract (EN)
Gnosticism is a doctrine that exhibits a mystical and philosophical structure, originating from ancient times and taking its name from the term "gnosis", meaning sacred knowledge. Although research on the origin of gnosticism, which has a fundamentally dualistic understanding, suggests that this movement is related to religious traditions such as Hellenism, Judaism and Christianity, a stronger view is that gnosticism developed in interaction with these traditions. Until the modern period, there was not enough information about the gnostic schools and figures that emerged in early Christian communities. However, the discovery of the Nag Hammadi Library provided the opportunity to conduct an in-depth review and develop ideas on this subject. In this study, the existing information on the founders and teachings of the gnostic schools that emerged in the early period was discussed and the significant differences between these schools were examined.
