A study on Hulki Aktunç's poems

Hulki Aktunç, who began his literary career in the 1970s, is one of the most versatile figures of modern Turkish literature. This study examines the themes, language, and style of Aktunç's poetry, which spans a variety of genres including poetry, short stories, novels, essays, diaries, and dictionaries. This study examines the themes, language, and style of Aktunç's poetry, including his collections of poems: Sır Kâtibi (1989), Islıkla Tarihçe (1989), Adresim Aynalar (1991), Şarkılar (1992), İnsan Aşklarının Külüdür (1993), Istıraplar Ansiklopedisi (1994), Bir Şeyin Varoluşu (1999), Sönmemiş Dizeler (2009), and his co-authored work with Gültekin Emre, Opus (2012).The research and review revealed that Hulki Aktunç's poetic and poetic work has been overlooked within the history and literature of Turkish literature, particularly considering his role as a storyteller and novelist. This study aims to address a significant gap in Turkish literature, particularly in the Republican era. An examination of Aktunç's poems, identified as a post-1980 poet, reveals both the structural characteristics of his poems and clarifies Aktunç's place as a poet within the history of Turkish literature. The introduction to the study provides general information about the literary environment and poetic approach of the period in which Aktunç began publishing his poems and identifies the poet's literary engagement during this period. The second section examines Aktunç's life story in the context of his poems and works. The processing of the data obtained in this section focuses on identifying the factors that influenced Aktunç's poetic world and the process of constructing his poems. The third section reveals the strong connection between Aktunç's works and his life, also addresses the relationship between his works, and introduces the works. Detailed information is provided, particularly regarding the content of his poetry books and the order of the poems. The fourth chapter brings together the findings and assessments of various researchers on Aktunç's poetic universe to provide a general overview and outlines the formation of Aktunç's poetry. The poems, subjected to thematic analysis in the fifth section, are examined structurally in the sixth. The seventh section identifies the poems linguistic and stylistic characteristics.The conclusion, based on the findings, lists observations regarding Aktunç's poetry and poetry. This study demonstrates that Aktunç, while initially embracing socialist discourses in his literary production, which began in the 1970s, developed an individual poetry following an imagist, modernist, and avant-garde line after 1980. Furthermore, it has been understood that he established a strong connection between tradition and modernity and, from his earliest poems, constructed a unique and powerful poetic language. Aktunç, one of the most prolific literary figures in the poetry scene that developed after 1980, demonstrated meticulous linguistic craftsmanship in every work he produced, not only writing poetry but also demonstrating theoretical approaches to poetry. He has been shown to make theoretical observations regarding Turkish literature with his definition of "Delta Poetry" With all these characteristics, Aktunç presents an example of cultural poetry, and is also a representative of pure poetry. Aktunç's poems hold a unique place within modern Turkish poetry and are thought-provoking for future generations. It is expected that this study will draw attention to Aktunç's poems and will lead researchers to work on many issues in Aktunç's poetry from different perspectives.
