Özet (EN)

The Relationship Between Humeral Head Cysts and Rotator Cuff PathologiesThe relationship of Humeral head cysts and rotator cuff pathology were investigated in several studies. Today, the most valuable methods for imaging of cysts in the humerus, are magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and MR arthrography techniques. MRI examination of the cyst have been revealed relationships with the cuff pathologies. Cystic lesions in the supraspinatus and subscapularis insertion site is closely related to those tears, posterior facet localizated cysts in the bare area are related to age.Our study based on evaluation of relations arthroscopic diagnosis of rotator cuff pathologies and proximal humeral cysts. Cyst localization was assessed as the greater tubercle anterior and posterior facet and tuberculum minus. Cysts were classified according to age, size and their locations.Arthroscopic evaluation was diagnosed as impingement syndrome and rotator cuff tear. Cuff ruptures were classified according to the tendons, the size and the shape of ruptures. Larger than 5 cm and tears which contents more than one tendon rupture were accompanied by massive tears. The average patient age was 59 for men and 57 for women. In this context, patients by younger age 50 years, 50-60 years of age and were classified as being over the age of 60.The localization of the cysts and tear of the tendons were compared. The cysts which were located on the anterior facet are highly related with full-thickness supraspinatus tear, and it appeared as a result of the analysis is seen in patients with cysts of the anterior facet was significantly correlated with the supraspinatus full thickness tear (p<0.05). İn the literature are similar to our results but in our study the relationship with the high rate of percentage.Because, the MRI artifacts are frequently causes false positive or negative cases. During the mri examination, if anterior facet cysts are shown, you must encounter that high probablity of full thickness supraspinatus tears. Our study reveals that when anterior facet cysts were seen in mri, in case of an arthroscopic examination should be done well because of high relation of the supraspinatus tendon tears.Key words: cysts of the humeral head, shoulder arthroscopy, full-thickness tear supraspinatus
