Abstract (EN)

In the studies conducted on the humerus today, morphometric and macroanatomical differences have been revealed using various methods. The aim of this study is to define the humerus through CT images, to determine the differences between the sexes and to contribute to the researches to be done in gender determination. The study was performed on the humerus CT images of 105 individuals, 43 female and 62 male. 10 parameters on the humerus were examined and the obtained measurements were analyzed in SPSS program. According to the statistical analysis results, significant differences were determined between male and female humerus measurements (p<0.001). Independent samples t-test was used for normally distributed quantitative data; significant differences were found in the values of all parameters (p<0.001). In addition, when the relationship between the variables related to the humerus and the age variable was examined, a statistically significant negative weak relationship was determined between the values of the collum chirurgicum, corpus humeri length and trochlea humeri width and age. It is thought that the male and female humerus measurements obtained in this study will contribute to the evaluation of cases encountered in the clinic, gender and age-related identification studies, and forensic medicine, forensic anthropology and anatomy literature. Keywords: Humerus, Morphometry, Sex Determination, Computerized Tomography
